The Northern Link detailed feasibility study was an in-depth investigation undertaken into the proposed toll road.

The study was completed in mid 2009.

It included:

  • traffic and transport studies
  • engineering and design studies
  • environmental studies
  • extensive community consultation
  • development of a business case based on the Queensland Government’s Value for Money Framework.

Findings of these studies can be found in the Northern Link Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) report.

Environmental Impact Statement report

The Coordinator-General released the EIS report on 25 October 2008 for a seven week consultation period.

Community members were encouraged to review the EIS report and provide the Coordinator-General with feedback on its findings. The Coordinator-General received more than 200 submissions from community members and state agencies, which helped inform Council's decision to proceed without local road connections for the project.

Council prepared a Supplementary Report to the EIS which assessed the impacts of the project without local connections. The Supplementary Report was submitted to the Coordinator-General in July 2009.

For more information on the EIS, visit the Northern Link technical website.
