ABOUT THE PROJECT
The aim of the Greenlanes creek crossing project is to provide a safe shared pedestrian cycle crossing and pathway for both recreational and commuter users.

Construction commenced late May 2010 and weather permitting will be completed by the end of September 2010.

The project will link Greenlanes Road, Ashgrove to Royal Parade, St Johns Wood and will provide local residents access to the Ashgrove Scenic Reserve and the Woods Memorial Playground on the northern side of Enoggera Creek and the Taylor Range Country Club on the southern side of Enoggera Creek. The project will also create enhanced access to existing cycle paths and access to bus stops located on Waterworks Roads.

Council has completed the detailed design of the project and it can be viewed at The Gap ward office.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?
The Greenlanes Creek Crossing project will include:

  • a 300m long, 3m-wide shared pedestrian/cycle pathway connecting Royal Parade to Greenlanes Road
  • a 6m-wide low level culvert creek crossing, designed for joint use by pedestrians and cyclists
  • kerb and channel  will be constructed at the end of Greenlanes Road to separate the exiting road from the shared pedestrian and cyclist path to prevent water run off.
